Non-stop snowing in Toronto! I woke up this morning with the task of getting out of the house for a couple of city shots. There is a beautiful photo opportunity when the snow is still white and fresh.
The city keeps functioning and Canadians are not afraid of the minus temperatures, the wind or the difficulty to walk through the piles of snow. All my respect goes to those biking with this weather. They are the brave Torontonians. There are plenty of jokes on the Internet about Torontonians not being able to handle a snow storm but I bet that someone from the whiter north  started the joke.
The downtown life seems to happen in slow motion. Drivers are extremely careful behind the wheel, the streetcars are running slowly and the snow plow conductors are constantly working.
It is cold outside! The store workers can be seen at the door, talking or smoking a cigarette as the customer traffic is very low in a day like this. A few shops and little restaurants closed by 3pm.
When you live in the downtown area of Toronto the winters are more colourful and active. Chances are that if you live far from the city centre you will stay indoors during a snow storm.
Here are the pictures I took around Kensington Market and College St around 1pm. I am sure we are going to have a lot of “fun”when this white and perfect snow starts melting.
