Life, Culture and Travels from the perspective of a Cuban
Are these sold in Cuba as “magic” mushrooms?
Categories: Cuba Inside Out

There comes a time when you have to “clean” your computer and start deleting duplicates of pictures sitting on your desktop, organize your files, allow more space for your music and films. I do not do it regularly but most of all the work has to get done for you to just find things easily. Doing so I have found some random pictures from Cuba (April, 201o) and funny videos with friends that I never got the chance to play. I was laughing like crazy.

Anyways, I have found history. Like taken from a live museum. I wanted to share this picture I took at a supermarket of a product I believe does not give you eternal life but for some reason it had an incredible price. Please, keep in mind that this price is not in Cuban pesos but the equivalent to American dollar, the so called convertible peso or CUC.

Food items like these ones are expiring on the shelves. Cubans learn to pass by without needing them or wanting them. Many have never tried mushrooms or cherries… The lucky ones can afford to eat a bunch of grapes only during Christmas time, as a luxury. Innumerable articles cannot even be purchased or found at stores, no matter if your pocket is full of bills.
