For almost a month the theaters in Havana have been playing the Cuban film “Boleto al Paraiso” (Ticket to Paradise) a drama based on a true story, from director Gerardo Chijona.

Even though all the characters are fictional the story is based on a group of young people who decide to infect themselves with AIDS to try to scape from the economical crisis (special period) that was living the island in 1993.

The film develops the story of a  young girl who is raped by her father and is running away. She joins this group of young kids that are also running away from their problematic family history.
