At the south coast of Cuba and about 211 km from Havana there is  wonderful place called Caleta Buena (Good Cove).
Passing Playa Larga and  Playa Giron Caleta Buena was almost a wild and unknown spot when I was 8 years old. For two or three summers in a row I went with my parents to Playa Giron, a touristic complex with cabins and bungalows and we used to go in a horse cart to Caleta Buena to spend the day and then back in the afternoon.
Caleta Buena had wooden boardwalks, little bays and paradisiacal natural swimming pools with clear blue water where you could see the fishes moving around. You would see people snorkeling, swimming and jumping into the natural swimming pool (my favourite thing to do as a kid, of course)  🙂
Now they advertise the place as a diving attraction. I have not being there since the 80’s. I should visit this special childhood destination soon. The place will be always beautiful but hopefully it has not developed much and still holds its charm.
