I have finally visited the Louvre! Since I am going to be in Paris for another month I know I will be visiting the Louvre museum several times so I registered with the Société des Amis du Louvre, a great option if you are interested in going often, without spending the whole day there. The yearly pass costs 70 euros for one person and 110 for two.

They sent me the member card by post which I can show at any entrance for free admission. I could bring a friend as well, on Wednesdays and Fridays, after 6 pm.

Yesterday, I spent four hours there, mostly seeing French paintings. I fell in love with the Louvre back in 2009 when we visited and did the fast tour. There is really not enough time to see the Louvre in one trip to Paris, unless your stay is over two weeks or you have clearly defined the few masterpieces you want to see.
