Lizt Alfonso’s girls will be dancing in NYC
Categories: Shows/Festivals

Lizt Alfonso Dance Company will have a show in New York on November 3rd, 2011 at the New York City Center (NYCC).

The presentation will be a part of the Fall for Dance Festival which will be running from Oct,27th to Nov,6th.

The show “Pa’ Cuba me voy” (2001) will be performed by 17 female dancers and seven musicians in a sensual combination of flamenco, ballet, Afro-Cuban and Cuban rhythms.

Alfonso’s ballet company has a high reputation in Cuba and the world due to the amazing dancers and teachers that work together to create very singular dance choreographies. I have seen a few of their shows in Havana and Toronto, some of them even performed by their younger dancers and I am always amazed at their art.

Last year they were in New York as well. I do not think they have toured any other city in the USA.

For more information about their program and purchase of tickets please visit the New York City Center Website.

They will also have two more presentations in the Guggenheim Music Theater on Nov,6th and 7th as a part of their Work & Process fall season. For the event details and tickets info please go to the Guggenheim Page.
