The  Zunzún or bee hummingbird lives only in Cuba and is the smallest bird in the world (approximately 6 cm long and 2 grames of weight).
The little bird can flap its wings around eighty times per second and could fly up to twenty hours nonstop.
Zunzún belongs to the Colibri family which has more than 300 species. Experts agree that there is a similar bird in Jamaica and Santo Domingo but bigger than the Cuban.
They play an important role in plant reproduction and feed mainly on nectar. The female Zunzún takes care of the young and it is rarely seen with the male.
